Conditions we treat

Anxiety treatment in Dallas & across Texas

Everyone feels anxious sometimes — but when worry becomes constant, physical, and hard to control, it may be an anxiety disorder. Generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive patterns are among the most common and most treatable conditions we see at Healing Realm Psychiatry & Wellness.

We provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management for anxiety by secure telehealth to adolescents 13 and older and adults across Texas, including Dallas and the DFW metroplex. You meet with a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner from the comfort of home — no waiting rooms, no commute.

Signs & symptoms

Signs it may be time to get help for anxiety

You don't need to check every box — if several of these sound familiar and are affecting your daily life, an evaluation can bring clarity.

  • Excessive worry that's difficult to control, most days
  • Restlessness, feeling keyed up or on edge
  • Panic attacks — sudden waves of fear with a racing heart, chest tightness, or shortness of breath
  • Trouble sleeping because your mind won't shut off
  • Avoiding situations, places, or people that trigger anxiety
  • Irritability, muscle tension, or frequent headaches and stomachaches
  • Intrusive thoughts or repetitive behaviors you feel driven to perform
How treatment works

Online care, built around you

Treatment starts with a comprehensive 60–70 minute psychiatric evaluation. We review your symptoms, health history, and life circumstances to understand not just the anxiety, but what's driving it — because anxious symptoms can also stem from thyroid issues, medication side effects, or other conditions.

From there we build a personalized plan. For many clients that combines medication with practical, evidence-based lifestyle strategies — sleep habits, breathing exercises, mindfulness — and a referral to a quality therapist when talk therapy would help. Follow-up visits every 2 weeks to 3 months keep the plan working and let us adjust as life changes.

Medication management

A careful, collaborative approach

When medication is appropriate, modern anti-anxiety treatment is safe, effective, and non-sedating for most people. Options include SSRIs and SNRIs taken daily, as well as short-term or as-needed medications in select situations. We prescribe conservatively and only when necessary, and we explain the goals, benefits, and risks of every medication before you start it.

If you've tried medications before without success, we offer GeneSight pharmacogenetic testing, which analyzes how your genes may affect your response to common psychiatric medications — helping us choose options more likely to work for you with fewer side effects.

FAQ

Common questions about anxiety care

Can anxiety really be treated over telehealth?+

Yes. Psychiatric evaluation and medication management for anxiety translate very well to secure video visits, and research shows outcomes comparable to in-person care. Many clients find home a more comfortable place to talk about anxiety than an office.

Will I have to take medication forever?+

Not necessarily. Some clients use medication for a season while they build coping skills; others benefit from longer-term treatment. We review your plan together at every follow-up, and any change is a shared decision made gradually and safely.

Do you treat panic attacks and OCD too?+

Yes. We treat the full spectrum of anxiety-related conditions, including panic disorder, social anxiety, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), for adolescents 13+ and adults across Texas.

How soon can I be seen?+

You can book online through Zocdoc, Headway, or Psychology Today, or call or text (972) 972-4247. We also offer a free 10-minute consultation so you can ask questions before committing.
